Director, Innovation & New Product Development

Based in Houston-TX, Reliant Energy (NYSE: RRI), provides electricity  

and energy-related products to more than 1.8 million retail/wholesale  

customers in Texas and the Mid-Atlantic Region, and is one of the  

largest independent power producers with approx.16,000 MW of power  

generation capacity in operation or under contract across the U.S.

The Director of Innovation and New Product Development will lead a  

stage gate process to launch breakthrough new products for top tier  

customer needs; prioritize resources against highest value  

opportunities based upon financial impact; design new  

transformational internal business processes to deliver breakthrough  

goals; and assist Vice President in strategy development/industry  

knowledge networks.  

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Math/Economics/ Finance/Business/ 

Engineering; 9-15 years of experience working in product development,  

sales and marketing; strategic thinking/cross-functional leadership  

skills; understanding of drivers of value for service industry and of  

modeling/analyzing financial and commodity structures; and  

willingness to work in an environment of uncertainty.  Master’s of  

Business Administration preferred.
